Welcome back to 31 Days to Building a Cleaning Routine!
Day 22: 2 Floor Cleaner Recipes!
I wanted something green to clean our wood floors with. So, I tried the following recipe.
Wood Floor Cleaner
1/4 cup vinegar
1 gallon of warm water
Step 1: Sweep the floor to clear off all loose debris.
Step 2: Mix the vinegar and warm water in a bucket. Use a mop and squeeze out as much water out of the mop as possible. If you notice any puddles at all while you’re cleaning, your mop has too much water in it. Try to keep the mop just slightly damp, so that the floor will dry very quickly.
Step 3: After mopping your hardwood floor, you can use a soft, clean towel to dry it or let it air dry. If the floor looks very wet, you may wish to use a towel.
It worked so well on the hardwood floor, as well as my linoleum floor in the kitchen! I was pleased with the result. The smell dissipated quickly when I was done cleaning. Plus it’s non-toxic and there is no need to rinse afterward!
Another Recipe I want to try:
– 1/4 cup vinegar
– 1 Tbl. dish soap
– 1/4 cup washing soda
– 2 gallons of warm water
*I forgot where I found this recipe, but I do remember the blogger liked it!
Keep a spray bottle filled with the same 1/4 cup:1gallon solution with your cleaning supplies. This is great for spills in the kitchen or spot cleaning the floors around the house. Just shake it up, spray some on a cloth or even a paper towel to clean up grease splatters around the stove or muddy footprints at the door.
See you tomorrow! Stop by at 6am to link up at Take it on Tuesday!!
