I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely been craving sweet things lately, especially with all the Christmas cookies, etc. being pinned on Pinterest!! And, I’ve given in to the cravings and have been making sweet things a LOT. (Don’t worry, I’ve given some of it away, but we still have too much in our house.) My latest favorite was the Cranberry Christmas cake – it’s so good and not too sweet. I love the tangy-ness of the cranberries with the sweet cake!! It’s moist and amazing – check it out!!
Well, on to the pregnancy update:
How I feel/slept – Getting pretty tired most days now. I’m definitely in my 3rd trimester now!! The past three nights in a row I’ve woken up at 3:30am and have not been able to fall asleep again for a couple of hours. When I finally do fall asleep again, I’ve got Matt’s alarm waking me partially, and then it’s really hard to get out of bed in the morning. Sigh. I took a nap yesterday, but today I’m powering through the day. Hopefully I’ll sleep better tonight!
I have noticed the past couple of weeks that if I bend over repeatedly, or push myself too hard I do get Braxton Hicks contractions. Thankfully, since I’m home, most of the time I can just sit down, rest, and drink water until I feel okay again. Most of the time Ain’s pretty good about keeping himself entertained. But sometimes, I’m trying to rest and this happens:
Total weight gain? – My weight fluctuates a bit, but on average I’m up 14.5 pounds overall. Last pregnancy I had gained 17 pounds by this time. My pre-pregnancy weight was more this time and my bump is definitely bigger for this second pregnancy!!
Cravings – I’ve been in the baking mood and have been craving sugar! I’m trying to eat healthy though. It’s hard. My appetite is still pretty normal (except in the evenings I get hungrier).
Movement – Lot of movement. This little guy seems to move even more than I remember Ain moving at this stage. And his strong – his movements are big!! I love feeling him move – although maybe HE is what is waking me at 3:30 every morning.
Best moment recently – Buying some cute newborn cloth diapers!! This was the first official purchase for the new baby:
At this point, our little baby boy is about the size of an cauliflower: 14 1/2 inches long and weighs just about 2 pounds. Here are my bumps at 27 weeks. On the left – last pregnancy. On the right – this pregnancy!
And because Ain was saying “up” so cutely, we took another with him. Both my babies – aren’t we cute!?
