Say Goodbye to Survival Mode Challenge: Day 3

Create a Successful Morning Routine

Do you feel like your days are “busy” doing something, and yet you are somehow always behind and disorganized? Do you feel like you cannot cram anything more into your hectic days? Do you feel like you’re always running around in circles?

You need a routine. I know for me (when I stick to a routine), my day feels more peaceful and I feel like I know what I’ve accomplished for the day.

How do you come up with a successful morning routine? Follow these steps:

Step 1: Brainstorm a list of things you would like to do each morning, then pare that list down. Take to the day to really think about it.

Step 2: Then, chose your 3-5 most important to-do’s and write them down. Make a copy of the list and put it in obvious places you will look at as you go about your morning. The more you are reminded, the more easy it is to stay on task.

Step 3: Stick with it for 3 weeks. Commit to following through with your Morning Must-Do’s every single morning for the next three weeks. You might not always hit them all each morning and you ARE going to have interruptions. Do the best you can do to stick with it!

At the end of three weeks, stop and re-evaluate what’s working and what’s not. Tweak your list or your morning plan, and then keep the Morning Must-Do’s practice up.

My {New} Morning Routine (starting tomorrow)!

I reevaluated my morning routine and here is what I came up with:

1) (whenever baby wakes up for the day): nurse baby, then go to the kitchen for quiet time/breakfast.
This is how I keep him occupied while I work in the kitchen...

2) Clean up kitchen/prep for dinner
3) Wash or put away cloth diapers

4) Check emails/blog
5) Put baby down for his first nap (leave him in Daddy’s capable hands) and go exercising!

What does your morning routine look like?
