Take it on Tuesday: Decorating for Christmas!

coffee tablescape

Before I got out my Christmas decorations this year, I looked through my Christmas Inspiration board on Pinterest.  I picked out several projects that I wanted to try and accomplish this year. I’ll show you what our home looks like right now, then I’ll show you what projects I will work on. This is so fun!!

My husband set up Christmas lights on the outside of the house (and updated our wine bottle try). I’ll show pictures on that later, when I’ve got a good shot.

My favorite is our Christmas tree. I LOVE the simple colors of green, red, and white. The poinsettia’s I bought last year add so much to our tree!!

On the coffee table in front of the tree, I set up a little tablescape. I want to add more color (green, red, gold) once I go shopping, but this is what I have for now:

Here is my original inspiration for the tablescape (from It’s Overflowing):

Also in the living room, I have my wooden Nativity set from the Philippines and our wine bottle luminaries:

Lastly, we have a table with a variety of items. Our old table skirt (because I’m going to make a new one this year), my husband’s Nutcracker, and our Advent Calendar Boxes (in the red box). Sorry this is blurry:

I have a few unfinished places: my piano top and kitchen.

I plan on making a wreath for the front door, similar to this one:

The tree skirt I want to make (I have a red table cloth):

And I may even attempt this cute frame for one of our windows:

It’s so much fun to be decorated for Christmas and to begin anticipating the time with family!!
