Sleep – I don’t wake up in the middle of the night every night, so my sleep has been better. I’m starting to get into the routine of going to bed around 11 and getting up at 7:30 or 8am. I’ve been less tired during the day if I sleep well.
Total weight gain/loss? – I gained 2 pounds again this week (I tried not to consume too much sugar – but it was Christmas!). So overall I’ve gained 7 pounds during this pregnancy.
Maternity clothes? – Exclusively. I popped this week! I’m wearing my new maternity jeans all the time! With Christmas money I bought the white shirt I’m wearing below, another shirt, and a classy maternity little black dress.
Food Aversions: Ugh…I don’t want to talk about it (or think about it), but it’s real people!!
Movement: Nothing yet, but I’m hoping to feel something soon!
Best moment last week? – Opening Christmas presents for Baby Pool!! The first present Baby Pool received was a book, “I Loved You Before You Were Born”. Matt asked “Grandma” (“Marmee”) to read it aloud. She was crying, but she made it through the book!! We all were bawling by the end. It was such a perfect moment!
Baby Pool also received a set of baby monitors from my parents. I received a book on the Bradley Method I can’t wait to read from Matt’s Dad and step mom. My sister Amy made a growth chart for us. It made of this massive piece of wood, and she hand painted the numbers!! She made sure it could accommodate up to 6’5″ – perfect. Both Matt and I LOVED it!!
Gender: We hope to find out Jan. 15th whether it’s a boy or girl.
What I am looking forward to: Now that Christmas is over, I’m definitely counting down the days until my next Christmas present – being able to see our baby for the first time!!! We have an ultrasound scheduled for Jan. 15th and hope to find out the sex of the baby.
I’m so thankful my husband agreed to watch (on Christmas Eve) The Business of Being Born with me. It was very eye openning – gave us a lot of information. I think it was good for my husband and I to see, though my husband didn’t want/need to see the 5-6 births happen. Birth is going to be so hard, but I feel I am a little more prepared as I read/watch more.
Below is a 2 1/2 minute clip from the video – this is a must watch!!
Our little “June Bug’s” Growth
We’ve been taking photos since week 6 and showing a fruit or vegetable in the picture that is the same size as our little “June Bug”. This week: our baby is the size of an Apple (4 inches long and weighs 2 1/2 ounces):
