How I feel – I still have been sleeping a little better and have almost a normal amount of energy. Just on Sunday I was telling a couple of my girlfriends that it seems this pregnancy I’ve been pretty even-keeled emotionally. I have not been over-emotional (except when I read a birth story) or having mood swings. But then the next night Matt and I were trying to have a discussion about the nursery and I was bawling. Matt thought I might be having a mood swing since I said while crying, “I’m not sure I can get through labor and delivery”, then “You are going to be an awesome father.” the next sentence. 🙂
Total weight gain/loss? – Baby Pool is going through a growth spurt and I’m still hungry a lot. At the beginning of the week I was eating closer to 5 meals a day, but now with getting back to work I have 3 meals and snacks (at almost 3 hour intervals!) Again, I have not gained any weight this week, so I’m still at a 7 pound gain overall during this pregnancy. I’m not worried yet, but I better gain weight next week – I’m going to try to have eggs everyday. Next week I will see the midwife and have an ultrasound – hopefully the baby is a healthy size!
Cravings – I really haven’t had a lot of cravings this pregnacy, but this week I’ve noticed that with my almost constant hunger I’m very susceptible to want a certain food if I just hear or read the word. Last night I craved both bacon (seeing it in a movie) and ice cream. Halfway through dinner I put my dinner down and said I wanted bacon. Haha – Matt was accommodating We cooked up some bacon, ate a slice and added the rest to our meal’s leftovers. I think it will be tasty. I also had ice cream.
Movement: Nothing yet, but I’m hoping to feel something soon!
Best moment last week?
Gender: We hope to find out Jan. 15th whether it’s a boy or girl. (4 more days!)
What I am looking forward to: I’m definitely counting down the days until my next Christmas present – being able to see our baby for the first time!!! We have an ultrasound scheduled for Jan. 15th and hope to find out the sex of the baby.
Our little “June Bug’s” Growth
We’ve been taking photos since week 6 and showing a fruit or vegetable in the picture that is the same size as our little “June Bug”. Last week: 4/1 inches and 3 1/2 ounces (red pepper) This week: our baby is the length of a turnip (5 inches long and weighs 5 ounces):
